Congratulations

Registered teachers across Victoria are involved in a broad range of projects and practices that build knowledge and strengthen the practice of the teaching profession.

Every year awards and scholarships are granted to teachers and principals whose professional work has been recognised by their peers and who have been nominated for an award.

On behalf of all registered teachers, the Institute congratulates the following teachers who in the past term have received the following awards and scholarships:

Australia Day Awards
The Australian Honours system celebrates individuals who stand above the every day and mark the extraordinary in our society. The Order of Australia is the highest recognition for outstanding achievement and service.

2010 Schools First National Impact Awards
These national awards are for those school–community partnerships that can demonstrate improved student outcomes as a result of their partnership.

2011 BHP Billiton Science National Teacher of the Year Award
The awards recognise outstanding contributions made by classroom teachers to science education around Australia.

This award recognises outstanding applications of technology that address the most significant challenges facing the global education and training industries.

These awards recognise outstanding service to promoting diversity and multiculturalism in Victorian communities.

The scholarships assist career advisers to study at postgraduate level to enhance their skills and knowledge.

2010 Microsoft Victorian Innovative Teacher Award
The award acknowledges exceptional teachers who have introduced innovative technologies in imaginative ways into the curriculum to support students and improve learning outcomes.

2010 Bell Shakespeare’s Regional Teacher Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded to support the quality teaching of Shakespeare for 12 teachers from schools in remote and regional Aus-tralia. This four-day intensive professional development program is designed to inspire teachers to bring the works of Shakespeare into the classroom.
