Teacher graduates 2013
If you are due to complete a teacher education course in 2013 and intend to teach in a Victorian primary, secondary or special education school, you need to apply for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
To apply, you are required to complete an online application for teacher registration and submit it to the Institute electronically.
Find out more about the Application for Teacher Registration (PDF - 1 MB).
To assist the application process for new graduates the Institute has an arrangement with universities (Melbourne, Deakin, La Trobe, Monash, Ballarat, RMIT, Victoria University, and ACU) to transfer academic transcripts electronically to the Institute.
If your university participates in the automatic transfer of results to the VIT, and you have submitted a signed consent form by the due date they have requested, you will not be required to provide your teacher education transcripts to the VIT.
If you have not given consent, when you receive your final year transcripts, have certified copies made and forward them to the Institute to be placed in your file.
Please note: You are not able to teach in a Victorian school unless you have been granted registration as a teacher by the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
Please refer to Registration process.
