National Education Summit - The Education Show 2021

The National Education Summit Friday 23 – Saturday 24 July 2021 has been a key event at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre since 2016 and continues to grow.

The National Education Summit Melbourne is professional learning designed by Australian educators, for Australian educators. Hear from educational experts and connect with the Australian community via a series of six conferences and a free seminar program. All events are mapped to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers providing you with self-identified continuing PD.

Join the Victorian Institute of Teaching along with principals, school leaders and educators aiming to provide the highest standard of professional development across key themes in the K-12 education sector in the following ways:

Additional Needs Symposium

A two-day Symposium focused on making classrooms inclusive, covering; Positive Behaviour, Inclusive Classrooms, The Spectrum and Anxiety. Academics, Experts & Health Professionals share their knowledge and provide practical strategies for educators to implement in the classroom.

Libraries for the New Millennium

A one-day (Saturday) Conference co-hosted by the School Library Association of Victoria (SLAV). This event offers dynamic, inspiring opportunities for teacher-librarians, librarians and library team members to build their essential role in engaging and developing lifelong learners. The program also suits Literacy teachers.

Innovation in the STEM Classroom

The continual advances in technology are changing the way students learn, connect and interact every day. Skills developed by students through STEM provide them with the foundation to succeed at school and beyond. This one day conference will suit classroom teachers wanting to implement more hands-on, practical projects no matter what the subject.

Wellbeing for Future Focused School

Student resilience and wellbeing are essential for both academic and social development, and are optimised by safe, supportive and respectful learning environments. Schools share this responsibility with the whole community.

This Conference will cover the importance of wellbeing for both academic and social development together with areas of concern and strategies teachers can be equipped with to ensure positive outcomes for their students. 

Berry St Educational Model

The Berry Street Education Model provides teachers with evidence-based strategies for working with struggling students.

This one-day workshop will leave teachers feeling empowered and inspired to teach the de-escalation and self-regulation skill that our students so desperately need. Teachers will learn strategies for struggling students that they can use in their classrooms the next day!

World Gifted Symposium

The Victorian Association of Gifted and Talented Children (VAGTC) advocates for the identification and support of gifted and talented children in schools across the state of Victoria.

At the National Education Summit Melbourne, VAGTC will present the following two dynamic sessions, Developing a Gifted Program Unique to a School and Stories of the Gifted.
