The Victorian Institute of Teaching has welcomed our newest generation of Victorian teachers and early childhood teachers through the 2016 mid-year graduate registration process.
VIT CEO Melanie Saba said that more than 95% of the applications submitted in the current mid-year registration round have been completed.
“We understand how important it is for graduates to hold registration so they can gain meaningful employment after their studies,” Melanie said. “Our staff have been working tirelessly to ensure the mid-year applications are reviewed and completed as quickly as possible, so graduates can join the profession and start using their skills.”
The small number of remaining applicants are either awaiting evidence of successful course completion or have been required to provide further information regarding their application.
All of these applicants have been contacted and are aware of the status of their application.
Melanie said while the application approval process was moving quickly, there was no compromise on quality.
“Applicants should be afforded a quick approval turnaround so they can start teaching in Victoria as soon as possible after graduating, however not at the expense of due diligence. Our processes are efficient, yet robust enough to ensure learners are taught by teachers and early childhood teachers of the highest ethical and professional standards.”
The VIT wishes all mid-year graduates a long and fulfilling career as an educator in Victoria.
