Happy World Teachers' Day! A message from VIT

20 OCTOBER 2016

VIT CEO Melanie Saba on World Teachers' Day:

“Teachers truly make a difference educating and inspiring young people, and it’s important to recognise the vital role they play in our society. World Teachers' Day gives us the opportunity to celebrate teachers and thank them for their work."

Celebrated in more than 100 countries world-wide, World Teachers' Day was established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) in 1994 to recognise the role of teachers in society.

“World Teachers' Day is held internationally on 5 October. As the day usually falls during school holidays, we celebrate on the last Friday of October each year.

“I’d like to join our Chairperson and Council in wishing every teacher a happy World Teachers' Day 2016.”
