25 JULY 2018
This year the Department of Education and Training (DET) is running a series of free one-day conferences for government school graduate teachers.
The Graduate Teacher Conferences are designed to build teacher capacity and foster local networks for graduates across Victoria who are in their first year of teaching.
The conference program aims to build on professional practice, develop resilience as a professional educator and establish a strong professional identity.
Forming part of the Inspiring Teachers strategy for induction, the series will provide an opportunity for graduates to become an active part of their professional community.
New teachers will be encouraged to build and sustain area-based graduate networks in order to work collaboratively and support each other.
The Conferences are also an opportunity to give graduate teachers the skills and confidence to access available support and resources as they continue to develop in their careers.
The conferences are being held from August to September in areas across Victoria’s north-western, north-eastern, south-western and south-eastern regions.
