Register for a Graduate Teacher Conference

02 JULY 2019

Are you a graduate teacher in a Victorian government school? Register now to attend a Graduate Teacher Conference.

The right support at the start of your career

Beginning your teaching career is rewarding and exciting, but comes with challenges. The Graduate Teacher Conferences provide an opportunity to build professional practice, form a strong professional identity and learn to manage wellbeing and resilience as educators.

The Conferences aims to give graduate teachers practical skills and access to support, as well as help to build resilience and manage their personal wellbeing.

Last year, 81% of the graduate teachers who attended a conference said it helped them gain insights into their professional practice.

The Conferences will also support you to meet your professional learning requirements for full registration (see Australian Professional Standards for Teachers 6.1-4). You will get a certificate of attendance you can use, alongside other evidence of professional development, to progress towards full registration.

Cost

There is no charge to attend, but all graduate teachers are encouraged to discuss the opportunity with their mentor teacher and Principal prior to registration.

More information

You will find dates and more information on the Department’s Induction Page. If you have any questions in relation to the Graduate Teacher Conferences, please feel free to contact: brandi.fox@deakin.edu.au
