Working safely in 2021

A new eLearn module ‘School and early childhood infection prevention and control during coronavirus (COVID-19)’ is now available on FUSE for staff in early childhood and non-government schools, and LearnED for staff in government schools. This resource will ensure everyone working in any Victorian school and early childhood service has the necessary infection prevention and control training and health advice to work safely.

This module will provide staff with the facts, practical strategies and information about the precautions that can be taken to reduce risk while at work, enabling them to contribute to a safer environment for learners, colleagues and other members of education setting communities.

The module takes 20-30 minutes to complete and covers

  • an understanding of the virus and modes of transmission
  • the key risk factors
  • common coronavirus (COVID-19) myths
  • standard infection prevention precautions
  • the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • how to protect yourself and others.

This module is freely available to everyone in the education sector on FUSE, including casual relief teachers and pre-service teachers. At the end of the module, a certificate of completion can be generated.

Staff in government schools and other Department staff must complete the module on LearnED with Principals able to track completion through eduPay.
