The Country Education Partnership invites nominations for the Rural Education Awards 2021

The Country Education Partnership (CEP) 2021 Rural Education Awards acknowledge the inspirational and innovative educators, education leaders and education organisations who work collaboratively to provide learning within our rural and remote communities. 

The Awards recognise the reputation of rural education communities and partnerships as “centres of excellence”. It also acknowledges the endeavours that build a collective knowledge and recognises innovation that will enhance rural and remote education.

Complete and submit the application form by 1 March 2021.

Criteria

  • Utilising collaborative approaches that foster inclusiveness, participation, sharing and responsiveness to students and staff learning needs and desires;
  • Enhancing the capacity of rural and remote communities in delivering a high quality and responsive education;
  • Utilising innovative approaches, that are underpinned by continually rethinking and evaluating current practices, and resulting in “new thinking” and practices;
  • Utilising an evidence based approach, and has data that indicates outcomes and impacts that have enhanced learning opportunities and education outcomes.

As part of the application, nominees should describe how they have addressed the Overall Criteria listed above.

The definition of rural for the purpose of the Rural Education Awards includes those communities that are located:

  1. at least one-and-a-half hours' car travel from Melbourne CBD
  2. at least 15 minutes from a regional population of at least 10,000 people
  3. within a community population of less than 5,000 people.

$6,000 will be awarded to the successful nominee to be utilised in further developing the initiative. For more details, visit the website.
