In 2017 the Minister for Education, James Merlino MP, appointed Penny Armytage to make recommendations to improve VIT’s governance and operational frameworks in light of government policies to ensure the safety and protection of children (including the Betrayal of Trust Report and the implementation of Child Safe Standards.
The subsequent review, provided by Penny Armytage and supported by KPMG in March 2018, outlined key areas of reform covering:
