Thank you for your interest in employment at the Victorian Institute of Teaching. 

The Institute has a vacancy for the following positions.

Registration Support Officer

An opportunity currently exists within the Registration and Accreditation Branch for a Registration Support Officer (RSO) who assists in the processing and assessing of allocated teacher registration applications.  The position of RSO reports directly to the Registration Team Leader.

This is a VIT Grade 2, full-time, ongoing position.

The Branch

The key function of the Registration and Accreditation Branch is to maintain the register of teachers in Victoria.

The Role

  1. The key responsibilities for this role will include:
    assisting in the processing and assessment of registration applications
  2. assisting with incoming mail, scanning documents from applicants and matching document to applications
  3. updating and maintaining the registration database
  4. providing timely and accurate customer service
  5. any ad hoc duties required by the Team Leader.

Skills and Attributes

The successful candidate will be experienced in customer service, and will possess a high degree of integrity, maturity, and strong organisation and prioritisation skills.

Experience in working with applications would also be of great assistance within this role.

This position provides a unique opportunity to make a significant contribution to the Institute.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Experience in processing of applications with strong attention to detail.
    Well developed organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills, and capacity to represent the Institute in a professional manner
  • Demonstrated computer and typing skills including data entry
  • Demonstrated experience in using Microsoft Office suite of applications.

 Sessional Panel Members

The Victorian Institute of Teaching (the Institute) is seeking applications for twelve positions of sessional member of the Institute’s hearing panels.

Changes to the Education & Training Reform Act 2006, which came into effect on 1 January 2011, require that a hearing panel must be appointed from an approved pool of not more than 30 persons.
 
The Institute is currently seeking expressions of interest from:

  • persons who have been admitted to legal practice in Victoria for not less than 5 years;
  • persons who are current or former members of the Victorian Institute of Teaching Council
  • registered teachers
  • medical practitioners registered under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law; and
  • psychologists registered under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law.
