Victorian teachers named among Australia's most influential educators

The Educator Australia has announced the 2023 Most Influential Educator Award winners from across the country, including seven Victorian registered teachers.

The awards recognise inspirational leaders and changemakers who’ve made an impact on their students and school communities. According to industry expert and Senior Education Consultant, Kirsti Hitz-Morton, an influential educator is

  1. Innovative
  2. Abreast of current research and best practice
  3. Adaptable
  4. Systemic
  5. Relational

Candidates were chosen from the following criteria

  • founders and administrators of schools and programs
  • changemakers who have made an impact in the face of adversity
  • award-winning educators who have been recognised for contributions to education in Australia
  • educators who have demonstrated innovation and creativity in driving the education sector forward.

The 45 submissions were evaluated based on the overall impact of their contributions to education. Among the winners, there was a shared awareness to move with the times and prepare students for the future.

The VIT would like to congratulate the following Victorian award winners, who have significantly influenced the State's education industry across a range of roles and education settings.
