If an applicant for teacher registration has completed any of their initial teacher education (ITE) or early childhood (EC) program studies outside of Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Canada or the Republic of Ireland, they are required to complete an English language competency test.
Click here to find out more about VIT’s English Language Competency Policy.
Graduates who are required to undertake English language competency testing will need to provide VIT with evidence of successful completion of one of the following by providing a certificate from an accredited testing centre.
The VIT recommends booking the English language competency test well in advance, as wait times can be lengthy. Test results are valid for two (2) years from the date listed on the certificate.
The following tests are accepted by VIT.
