The Victorian Institute of Teaching is an independent statutory authority for the regulation of the teaching profession in Victoria.
It is the single registration authority for all teachers in Victorian schools. Established in December 2002, VIT administers Part 2.6 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 and reports to Parliament through the Minister for Education.
