The VIT office will be closed Friday 29 March and Monday 1 April for the Easter public holidays.

Fully registered teachers can help new teachers develop their professional skills by becoming a teacher mentor.

All teachers may also wish to connect with a supportive and like-minded group of colleagues.

Teacher mentoring programs

As part of the process for moving to full registration, provisionally registered teachers / early childhood teachers (PRTs) are required to find a mentor to help guide them through VIT’s Inquiry process. This mentoring support is central to the development of new teachers and those who have been out of the teaching profession for an extended period of time.

Any teacher who wishes to become a mentor for a PRT moving to full registration should participate in a VIT-approved mentoring program.

Visit the Teacher mentoring programs page to find out more.

Professional networks

Networking with others in a similar field or teaching context can be beneficial to a teacher's ongoing development.
