We are aware of an SMS scam involving VIT. Personal / identification documents should only be uploaded directly into the application via a MyVIT account or the Service Victoria app.

It is important to update your school and / or early childhood service's current contact details as VIT uses email to communicate important information about legislative amendments, employer obligations and teacher registration matters.

It is also important as

  • the principal / early childhood service manager / other leadership in charge of VIT registration matters must be the recipient of VIT communications
  • leadership in some schools and EC services are not receiving important VIT communications – this includes information about teachers who are about to become suspended or have been removed from the register.
  • failure to access timely information on teacher registration matters can lead to unregistered teaching practice and possible prosecution
  • an Employer Pack will be emailed in the coming months – this will be a helpful tool in the induction of new staff and ongoing recruitment for the year
  • you will also receive an email invitation to attend a VIT information session webinar where you will have the opportunity to speak with VIT representatives about any questions or concerns you may have about VIT or teacher registration.
