Financial support to study and work in early childhood
The Victorian Government is offering financial support to study and work in the early childhood sector with scholarships and employment incentives.
The Three-Year-Old Kindergarten initiative will create more than 6,000 new early childhood education jobs, including over 4,000 teachers and 2,000 educators.
Various scholarships are available for educators throughout their career stages, whether you're commencing study, upskilling as an educator, or completing your study in an early childhood teaching qualification.
The following scholarships and financial incentives are available:
- Accelerated early childhood education program
For educators looking to take the next step in their career can apply for an accelerated Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, offered at the Australian Catholic University, Deakin University and Victoria University. The program condenses study timeframes between 18 months and 2 years - Early childhood scholarships and incentives program
Eligible individuals pursuing a bachelor degree or postgraduate qualification to become an early childhood teacher - Early childhood Aboriginal pathway scholarships
This scholarship is for eligible Aboriginal people wanting to become an early childhood educator or teacher, including those seeking to upskill - Victorian early childhood teacher incentives
Financial incentives of between $9,000 and $50,000 are available for eligible qualified early childhood teachers working outside the sector to take up a position at any service delivering the Three-Year-Old Kindergarten initiative and qualified teachers who secure new roles at selected services.
Applications for scholarships and incentives can be made on the Department of Education and Training portal.
