The following steps outline how to complete your annual registration tasks.
How to complete your annual registration tasks
- Log into your MyVIT account.
- Click on the 'Complete annual registration tasks' tile (this will appear once your annual registration tasks are ready to be completed).
- The initial application page outlines what tasks you need to complete, what information you’ll need to complete them and information about your registration options.
- If you are leaving the teaching profession and don’t intend to return, you can cease your registration via the ‘Manage registration’ menu on the previous page.
- Click ‘next’ to proceed
- You are required to provide some information to VIT as your registration is in lieu of a Working with Children Check. You must confirm if you currently undertake, or intend to undertake, any paid or voluntary child related work other than your teaching.
- Click ‘no’ and then click ‘next’
- You will need to complete a series of modules for annual registration. The modules with a green ‘review’ button already have information in them and don’t need to be completed unless you wish to review the information. The modules with a blue ‘update’ button need to be completed before you can submit your application.
- If you are due to complete your Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC), you are required to complete additional information relating to your name and address history and provide consent.
How to complete the proof of identity – address history module
- Click the blue ‘update’ button
- The module will appear if you are due to complete a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (all teachers are required to undertake this check every four to five years*). * If registration was granted before 30 September, the NCCHC will be conducted as part of the annual registration process during the fourth year.

- An address may be already listed. Even if this is the correct address of your current residence, more information is needed.

- The last day at your previous address must be the same as the first day of your next address. This is important. There must be no gaps between any of your dates.
- Click ‘next’
- A full five years of address history will be listed, including the two addresses you have lived in during the 5 years, with no gap between the end date of your previous address, and the start date of your current address.
- The current address should have no end date.
- Click ‘continue’
- The proof of identity address history module has now changed from blue ‘update’ to green ‘review’ on the annual registration tasks page. You don’t need to do anything further with this module, unless you want to review and/or change the information it contains.
