Teachers who wish to apply for full registration must be able to demonstrate they have
- completed an approved qualification
- an initial teacher education (ITE) program if you wish to teach in a school setting
- an early childhood (EC) program if you wish to teach in an early childhood service, or
- an overseas qualification deemed equivalent to the above by VIT (please refer to VIT's Qualifications Policy for more information)
- undertaken at least 80 days teaching experience in an Australian or New Zealand school or early childhood setting within the past five (5) years, and
- have met the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST) at the proficient teacher level.
