The LANTITE is how initial teacher education (ITE) graduates demonstrate they have the required personal literacy and numeracy levels to work as a teacher in Australia. 

If you graduated from a Victorian ITE program after 1 July 2016, you are required to pass the LANTITE before applying for registration as a teacher with VIT. 

In addition, if you were commenced your accredited ITE program anywhere in Australia on or after 1 January 2017, the LANTITE requirement is also part of your ITE program and must be met before graduation.
