Victorian Teachers' Games 2026
The Victorian Teachers’ Games (VTG) will return to Melbourne in 2026, bringing together educators from across the state for a unique program of sport, wellbeing and connection.
The VTG is a three-day, multi-sport event and a regular highlight of the education calendar. It provides an opportunity for teachers and education staff to step away from their day-to-day roles and take part in a wide range of activities designed to support health, wellbeing and professional connection.
Each year, more than 2,200 educators participate in the games. Many value the event as a way to strengthen team connections, build morale and prioritise their wellbeing.
A flexible and inclusive program
Participants can tailor their experience to suit their interests and fitness levels. The program includes
- a mix of high and low intensity sports and activities
- options to participate individually or as part of a team, and
- the flexibility to join one or multiple events.
This approach ensures the games are accessible and inclusive for a wide range of participants.
More than sport
In addition to the sporting program, the VTG features a social calendar designed to help participants connect and celebrate. This includes themed events and social gatherings across the duration of the games.
Supporting the education workforce
The VTG are delivered by School Sport Victoria in partnership with the Department of Education. The event supports workforce wellbeing and capability, contributing to strong school communities and positive outcomes for students.
