2025 Early Childhood Educators’ Day
Wednesday 3rd September is Early Childhood Educators’ Day!
Founded in 2011 by the Australian Childcare Alliance, the celebration recognises the work of Australia’s educators in early learning services (long day care, family day care, kindergarten/preschools and occasional care) for their wonderful contribution to the wellbeing and healthy development of the young children in their care.
Each year, Early Childhood Educators’ Day has grown, and it continues to raise awareness of the importance of early childhood education and care, and the irreplaceable role educators play in ensuring Australian children get the best start in life.
The day aims to build understanding of the role of early childhood educators, promote recognition and appreciation, strengthen staff wellbeing and encourage advocacy and awareness.
Overall, Early Childhood Educators’ Day seeks to honour and uplift the profession of early childhood education, creating a positive impact on both educators and the wider community.
“The benefits of high-quality Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) are now well recognised and acknowledged locally and globally across the education sector. Children who enjoy quality early learning are likely to be well-socialised, confident, inquisitive about the world, accepting of diversity, resilient to manage challenges and also to be life-long learners. Australia’s early childhood educators deserve to be acknowledged, thanked and appreciated for all they do.” Paul Mondo, President of Australian Childcare Alliance
