Nominations now open for the 2026 Australian Education Awards

Nominate a teacher or school today and help celebrate the outstanding work happening in education every day.

Nominations are now open for the 2026 Australian Education Awards, which shine a light on teachers, leaders and schools who make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people across Australia.

These national awards celebrate excellence in K–12 education and recognise the dedication, expertise and impact of educators who support students to thrive. Teachers, principals, department heads and whole school teams can be nominated — either by colleagues, community members or by putting themselves forward.

Presented by The Educator, the awards acknowledge the people and practices that strengthen school communities and lift outcomes for students. Being nominated, or receiving an award, is a significant mark of achievement and helps elevate the professional profile of educators who go above and beyond.

Nominations

Nominations should focus on achievements and results from the previous 12 months. All information contained in the entries that is marked confidential will be treated as such and not be released without permission of the entrant.

All nominations must be submitted via the official Australian Education Awards online portal

Nominations are now open and close on Friday, 13 March 2026.

We encourage anyone connected to a school — teachers, staff, leaders, families or students — to consider nominating someone who deserves to be recognised.
