On World Teachers' Day, 28 October, the annual Victorian Education Excellence Awards were presented by Minister for Education James Merlino to a group of truly deserving teachers and schools. VIT CEO Melanie Saba was on the judging panel for these awards, which celebrate the life-changing work of education professionals in government schools.
In 2016 90% of the 126,000 Victorian teachers submitted their online tasks by the deadline of 30 September. This is an increase on last year’s figures, particularly among the teachers who were due for their five yearly National Police History Check.
The 2016 Winners of the Victorian Early years Awards have been announced. The awards, now in their 11th year, recognise exceptional contributions that individuals and organisations make to improving the learning and development of young children and supporting their families.
