National NAIDOC Week 2025 - celebrating 50 years of Indigenous voices, culture, and resilience

Join the NAIDOC Week celebrations from 6-13 July 2025

NAIDOC Week celebrations are held this year from 6 to 13 July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples by all Australians, not just Indigenous communities.

The week is a great opportunity for teachers, schools and early childhood services to participate in a range of school and early childhood service-based activities, engage learners and support local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.

This year marks 50 years of NAIDOC Week celebrations. The theme for 2025, “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy”, celebrates both the remarkable achievements in the past as well as the bright future ahead, empowered by the strength of our young leaders, the vision of our communities, and the legacy of our ancestors.

NAIDOC continues to look forward and honour the next generation who will carry the torch and shape the future with courage, insight and deep respect for our roots. Guided by the wisdom of our Elders and the foundation laid by our ancestors, NAIDOC Week reinforces the vision for an Australia where Indigenous voices are not only heard but lead the way.

As a nation, we have come together to share stories and remember the acts of resilience shown by our Aboriginal and Torres Islander communities. We now look forward to the next 50 years and need to continue ensuring NAIDOC remains a movement grounded in community-led vision and integrity.
