Last December, we told you about the development of our new teacher registration system. It is now up and running, and all teachers registering with VIT for the first time are using the system.
In light of the impact of COVID-19, many teachers are now working in an online learning environment. We encourage teachers to take the opportunity to develop their skills in teaching and learning in an online environment.
We remain focused on assisting Victorian teachers, early childhood teachers and their employers as we move through the challenging months ahead. As such, we are endeavouring to minimise the impacts of COVID-19 on teachers' registration requirements where possible.
During the past month, we have witnessed Victorian teachers responding with incredible professionalism and resilience to meet the challenge presented by the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).
As engagement with learners begins occur in a remote environment, establishing good practices around professional communication is vital.
Like most businesses, COVID-19 has impacted the way the Victorian Institute of Teaching is conducting business.
VIT has been able to maintain delivery of its regulatory functions and keep phone lines open – albeit with some changes to our telephone numbers (as we are working away from the office).
