The Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) is currently undertaking a review of the Victorian Teaching Profession’s Code of Conduct (the Code).
The Code promotes adherence to the values teachers see as underpinning their profession; provides a set of principles to guide teachers in their everyday conduct and assist them to solve ethical dilemmas; affirms public accountability of the teaching profession; and promotes public confidence in the teaching profession.
A VIT investigation into allegations that a teacher failed to maintain a professional relationship with one of her students resolved yesterday in the Wangaratta Magistrates’ Court.
Victoria’s leading sustainability awards program, the Premier’s Sustainability Awards, are now open for entries, featuring a new category, that celebrates the outstanding contribution made by volunteers.
If you are a teacher reaching the end of your two year provisional registration, you are still permitted to teach throughout your grace period, so long as your name appears on the public register.
