The Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) is currently undertaking a review of the Victorian Teaching Profession’s Code of Conduct (the Code).
The Code promotes adherence to the values teachers see as underpinning their profession; provides a set of principles to guide teachers in their everyday conduct and assist them to solve ethical dilemmas; affirms public accountability of the teaching profession; and promotes public confidence in the teaching profession.
The Professional Practice (PP) team was formed to enable quality teaching and the best educational outcomes for learners, with a significant focus on building strong relationships with all stakeholders in the education space.
A VIT investigation into allegations that a teacher failed to maintain a professional relationship with one of her students resolved yesterday in the Wangaratta Magistrates’ Court.
AITSL has produced a series of videos featuring teachers illustrating, through their practice, how they meet the various descriptors of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
