Nominate an exceptional educator for the 2026 National Education Summit Teacher Awards
Nominations are now open for the 2026 National Education Summit Melbourne Teacher Awards, celebrating innovative teachers and outstanding leaders who are making a meaningful difference in Victorian schools and early learning settings.
These prestigious awards recognise educators whose creativity, leadership and commitment drive positive outcomes for learners and communities.
Educators are invited to nominate a colleague via a simple online application, supported by evidence such as lesson plans, curriculum materials, videos, online content or testimonials.
Educators may be nominated under one of two categories.
Innovation in Teaching Award
This award recognises teachers who demonstrate excellence and originality in classroom practice.
Judges will be looking for evidence of
- creative teaching methods that inspire students and enhance engagement
- adaptation to diverse learning needs and styles
- innovative use of technology to create dynamic learning experiences
- unique and original curriculum materials or activities
- collaboration, either among students or across educators
- improved student outcomes or skills development.
Outstanding Leadership Award
This award celebrates leaders who drive positive change and foster strong professional communities.
Judges will be looking for educators who demonstrate
- a clear ability to create and communicate vision and innovation within their school or setting
- positive influence on student success and staff development
- proven success in building and leading collaborative teams
- the capacity to inspire, empower and mentor others
- a strong contribution to advancing the teaching profession
- measurable success in student achievement, school development and community engagement initiatives

Nominations close on 30 July 2026.
Six Melbourne finalists (three per category) will receive complimentary registration to a National Education Summit conference, with winners announced at the Summit Social Networking Event at the conclusion of Day 1.
