With significant reforms and sector changes underway, this year represents an important moment for Victoria’s teaching profession. Our focus for the year centres on strengthening teacher quality, enhancing child safety, and improving regulatory experiences for teachers, employers and partners. Together, these priorities reflect our commitment to supporting a high quality teaching workforce and delivering strong outcomes for the Victorian community.
2026 presents an important opportunity to strengthen the foundations of the teaching profession in partnership with the communities we serve. The changes ahead will help us better support teachers, protect children, and build a regulatory system that is clearer, more responsive, and more connected to community expectations. Our Statement of Intent outlines the practical steps we’ll take this year to ensure our work better reflects the needs of the people we are here to serve.
