Happy World Teachers' Day - Friday 31 October 2025
World Teachers' Day is a chance to celebrate the extraordinary effort and devotion that teachers show in their work every day, empowering learners across Australia with the skills, knowledge and confidence to succeed.

World Teachers’ Day tribute
VIT Chairperson Dale Pearce pays tribute to the dedicated teachers across our state.
On behalf of the Victorian Institute of Teaching, I extend our sincere appreciation to you on World Teachers’ Day.
Today we recognise and celebrate the professionalism, dedication, and expertise of teachers across Victoria. Your work shapes the learning, wellbeing and futures of young people and, through this, strengthens the fabric of our communities.
Teaching is both a challenging and deeply rewarding profession. Every day, you bring knowledge, compassion, and creativity to your classrooms. You adapt to changing needs, support your students to thrive and uphold the highest standards of professional practice.
The VIT acknowledges the significant contribution you make to the lives of children and young people and to our shared future. On this special day, and throughout the year, we thank you for your ongoing commitment and professionalism.
VIT Chairperson, Dale Pearce
The VIT recognises the high quality of Victorian teachers, early childhood teachers, casual relief teachers, principals and early childhood leaders, and the significant contributions they make in our classrooms and communities.
