Individuals working in the accreditation space at initial teacher education (ITE) providers are strongly encouraged to participate in accreditation panel and panel chair training hosted by the Australian Institute of Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL). 

Accreditation panel training

The training provides a deeper understanding of the Accreditation Standards and Procedures, and will prepare you to assess accreditation submissions of ITE programs. 

The AITSL panel training is conducted over 2 days with each day covering a different stage of the assessment process. Please note that there is also pre-work for the training which is expected to be completed beforehand. This year, accreditation training will take place 

•    Tuesday 3 June and Thursday 5 June 2025
•    Tuesday 26 August and Thursday 28 August 2025
•    Tuesday 21 October and Thursday 24 October 2025.

Panel chair training

Those who are already trained as accreditation panellists are encouraged to further upskill with the panel chair training. This training prepares qualified panellists to facilitate accreditation panels with the necessary skills for chairs. Join an upcoming session on
•    Wednesday 14 May 2025
•    Wednesday 12 November 2025.

Upcoming panel opportunities 

It is anticipated that this year VIT will conduct several accreditation panels. If you are a trained accreditation panellist and would like to participate in a panel in 2025, please get in touch with the VIT Accreditation team and provide include your availability and any updated contact details.
